Biblical Trace

by David Bowman

The Great Pyramid is supposedly never directly mentioned in the Bible, and it is also questionable whether the greatest monument, that must have played an important role on their 'religious constitution', is mentioned at all. The problem is that the Pyramid could have different names in different contexts. It is also understandable that Jewish compilers of Tanach didn't want to make an emphasize on anything valuable Egyptian since the memory of their treatment in Egyptian captivity couldn't be easily forgotten. Scholars suggest that the Great Pyramid is mentioned in Isaiah 19:19, but the terms 'an altar' and 'a pillar' which are identified as a metaphor of the Great Pyramid are at least elusive.

KJV Isa 19:19 In that day shall there be an altar to the Lord in the midst of the land of Egypt, and a pillar at the border thereof to the Lord.

A mysterious place Pirathon is mentioned in Judges 12:15:

KJV Jdg 12:15 And Abdon the son of Hillel the Pirathonite died, and was buried in Pirathon in the land of Ephraim, in the mount of the Amalekites.

Suggestive is a Greek rendering of the above quotation in LXX Septuagint, LXT Jdg 12:15.

The Greek word for Pharaoh is Gk. Faraw which very much resembles the Greek translation of Pirathon, Gk. Faraqwm, or Pirathonites, Faraqwniths. It resembles a compound of two words Pharaoh, and a manifestation of Sun called Athon or Athum, therefore would denote the followers of the Egyptian Pharaoh that established the cult of Athon, the legendary Ankh-en-Aten, better known as Ekhnaton. Pirathon would therefore represent a transliteration of Per-Athon, in Egyptian the House of Athon. What if this section of the Bible says that Abdon the son of Hillel was buried in the Great Pyramid called at that time as the House of Athon, or Pirathom? The land of Ephraim could be a metaphor for Egypt, since Ephraim the son of Joseph was born in Egypt, and the mount of Amalekites is again the Great Pyramid or allusion to Giza plateau?
