 |  |  | | The Madonna of Humility was the only preserved painting of Pellerano, signed and dated 1346. The altarpiece was painted for the Cloister of San Francesco d'Assisi in Palermo. The main panel shows Madonna and child and the predella shows adoration of the instruments of the Passion. The instruments of Christ's torture which symbolize his death include: cup, column, crown of thorns, cross, sponge, lance and nails. |
