Monna Vanna is one of Roseti’s works painted in a manner of the renaissance masters. The painting was made in Venetian style therefore Rossetti named it Venus Veneta. He later changed its title, allegedly under the influence of Dante’s Vita Nuova, in Monna Vanna. After he made some corrections on the painting, in 1873, he named it Belcolore.
